I purchased this pin pointer with the Simplex kit. Showed a price of $175.99 regular and slashed to $114.95. Seemed like a good deal to me. It’s turned out to be a good pin pointer in my opinion. Comes with a nice case that I use for storing my charge cords for the pin pointer and the simplex/ear phones. Also comes with an extra tip protector. It has different sensitivity settings which is a nice feature but I haven’t really had the need to go to lower settings. I always use it on the maximum setting and I’ve had no issues with that. It’s a nice bright colour, looks good, seems to be very durable. It is water proof as well. It would be very nice if it had a connection for a lanyard but not a necessity. It does have a feature that if you leave it on on the ground it has an audible alarm that goes off so you don’t leave it behind that takes a little bit before it activates so it’s not a big deal if that’s not for you. I guess my only issue with the pinpoint is that it does interfere with the Symplex no matter what frequency you use which I thought buying from the same company you wouldn’t have that issue. Having said that they came up with the fix in the 2.77 and 2.78 version updates that gives you a mute button on the Simplex. Considering this is the first Pinpointer I’ve ever had I would recommend it.
